The mission of Whalley Avenue Special Service District (WASSD) is to grow Whalley Avenue businesses, boutiques, and shops into a destination retail brand, in essence creating a community of retail rather than just a collection of stores. WASSD is dedicated to supporting current businesses while recruiting new business to improve our profile and image in New Haven and its surrounding communities.

Services provided include business assistance, marketing assistance, a store directory, monthly meetings, and connections to government agencies and academic institutions.
